Privacy Policy
How Life Church Prague handles personal information in Life Church Connect and on this website.
Last updated: 6 September 2026
Who is responsible for your information
Life Church Prague is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. You can reach us at LIFE CHURCH, Hrdoňovická 18, 193 00 Prague – Horní Počernice, Czech Republic or by email at office@lifechurch.cz. If you have a question about your information, please write to that address and mark your message "Privacy".
We have not appointed a data protection officer; the church leadership handles privacy questions directly.
What we hold and why
Life Church Connect is a private members' area for our church family, plus this public website. We only hold what we genuinely need to run church life.
- Account and contact details — name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth where you have given it, photo where you have added one, and your language and display preferences. Used to give you an account and let the church stay in touch with you.
- Household and family links — how members of one family are connected, so pastoral care and events make sense for whole families.
- Membership, roles, permissions and groups — your standing in the church, any ministry role, and the groups you belong to, so the right people have the right access.
- Events and sign-ups — the events you register for or attend, and any notes needed to organise them.
- Group conversations and notifications — messages you send in your groups, the notifications generated from them, your notification preferences, and the device registrations needed to deliver push notifications.
- Prayer requests — what you choose to share, including whether you asked to be contacted. Access is restricted (see below).
- Giving records and annual confirmations — the gifts recorded for you and the confirmation documents produced for tax purposes. Life Church Connect does not collect or process card numbers or payment-account credentials.
- Church documents — certificates, letters and other records the church issues to you, kept with the details printed on them.
- Technical and security information — sign-in activity, an administrative audit trail of changes made in the system, and basic error information, so we can keep the service working and protected.
Our legal grounds
- To provide the church membership services you have asked for, including your account, groups, events and pastoral contact.
- Our legitimate interests in running the church well: administration, communication with members, pastoral care, safeguarding the service, and preventing misuse.
- Legal obligations, in particular keeping proper accounting and donation records.
- Your consent, where something is genuinely optional — for example receiving push notifications on a device, or sharing a prayer request. You can withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting what was done before.
Who can see your information
- Church leaders and administrators, according to their role and permissions in the system — not everyone with an account can see everything.
- Prayer requests are restricted to those you share them with and to the pastoral/prayer team; they are not published and are not visible to visitors.
- Other members see only the contact details you have chosen to share in the member directory. You control those choices in your profile.
- Service providers who host the application, store its data and deliver email and notifications on our behalf. They act on our instructions only.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only while there is a reason to keep it. In practice: your account and member details while you are part of the church family and for a reasonable period afterwards for administration; financial and donation records for as long as accounting and tax law requires; messages, notifications, documents and audit records for as long as they are operationally useful or legally needed. Notifications are cleared automatically after the period set by the administrators.
We have not fixed a single number of years for every category, and we would rather say so honestly than publish a figure we do not follow. Where information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop certain uses, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, ask for your information in a portable form where that applies, and withdraw any consent you have given.
Some records cannot be deleted straight away — donation and accounting records in particular must be retained where the law requires it. In that case we restrict their use instead and delete them when the obligation ends.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Czech supervisory authority, Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů.
How to make a request
Email office@lifechurch.cz with the subject "Data request" and tell us what you would like: a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. We will confirm your identity first, then respond as soon as we reasonably can and in any case within one month. Requests are reviewed by an administrator — nothing is deleted automatically.
You can also correct most of your own details yourself, at any time, in your profile in Life Church Connect.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses only what is necessary to sign you in and keep your session and language choice working. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking.
Online giving
Giving is currently recorded from bank transfers and from entries made by the church office. We plan to add direct online giving through Life Church Connect. Before that service is switched on, this notice will be updated to explain the payment service used and what information it receives.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when the way we handle information changes, and the date at the top will show when it was last revised.
